Self-Confidence

From March 1-4, the Finance Team of Heifer Cambodia provided a training course on financial report preparation to 14 accountants from 13 new and existing project holders who are implementing Heifer projects in eight provinces throughout Cambodia. The four-day training course, which was conducted at the Heifer Cambodia office in Phnom Penh, aimed to build and strengthen the capacity of project partners in reporting procedures and the computerized accounting system, QuickBooks. |

After a welcome speech,
Heifer Cambodia Finance Officer did the presentations and
explained to the participants budget categories, financial form
usage, cash flow requests, preparation of annual financial |
|
 |
|
projections, and the QuickBooks program application. The training course allocated two days for the participants to practice the exercises. Through these exercises and practices, the participants were able to discuss and share their ideas and understanding about financial management. |

During the training session, the participants enthusiastically learned and asked many questions. They were satisfied with the clarifications and feedback from the Finance Team. All participants expressed that the training was very useful and will be helpful in improving their financial reporting of Heifer project implementation. |

my knowledge on financial management was
very low. However, after attending several refresher financial
trainings and coaching provide by the Heifer Cambodia Finance
Team, now I am more confident in practicing QuickBooks and in
financial management in my organization. Thanks Heifer Cambodia
very much for the trainings to build my capacity.” Applying the
triadic model of Heifer Valued-Based Community Development,
every year Heifer Cambodia provides the financial training to
all project holders to improve their capacity in financial
management. |

works at the grass-root by providing animals and training to organized local
groups that request assistance.

Heifer Project International- Cambodia (Heifer Cambodia), a
non-profit and humanitarian organization, is a branch program of
Heifer Project International (HPI) based in Little Rock, Arkansas,
USA. Heifer Cambodia has been active since 1984, primarily providing
supports of infrastructure and capacity building for animal health
and production sub-sector and veterinary diagnostic laboratory,
including the technical training, vaccination program and
Hemorrhagic Septicemia (HS) Vaccine Production Projects, in
partnership with American Friend Service Committee (AFSC) and Church
World Service (CWS). |
